A partner based in our Manchester office, Claire Lawlor works with our disease team and has over 25 years of experience in personal injury litigation. 

Claire specialises predominantly in short-tail occupational disease. Namely in cases concerning cumulative back injuries, work-related upper limb disorders, occupational asthma, dermatitis, and stress/bullying in the workplace.

Her expertise also extends to claims concerning food poisoning, food allergies, housing disrepair, carbon monoxide poisoning, and both employers' and public liability transmission of infectious diseases. 

Claire works directly with a number of policyholders such as food manufacturers/retailers on claim prevention, improving internal procedures and floodgate management. This work has included COVID 19 claims and the impact of this on other short-tail disease risks and claims. 

Claire is also the lead of our Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) Subject Matter Group (SMG). This is one of a number of SMGs ensuring the development and sharing of in-depth and market-leading subject matter expertise.

Claire is involved in a large number of in-house and external client training sessions. Using her expertise, she contributes to our publications. She covers subjects such as short-tail disease topics and tactics including qualified one-way cost shifting (QOCS) and fundamental dishonesty/fraud issues.
