KC has some 10 years’ experience dealing with all matters relating to the international trade and transportation of goods, and general commercial disputes.
KC was previously based in Singapore and Hong Kong and spent time at a P&I Club. He acts for insurers, commodity traders, oil majors and other actors in the trading and transportation spheres with a broad mix of disputes and non-contentious work involving the international sale and purchase of goods and their carriage and storage, ship and offshore structure building and associated financing documents, along with general commercial and corporate matters.
KC is fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) and reads basic Dutch.

Acting for an agricultural commodities trader concerning genetically modified foodstuff regulated by EU law in arbitration
Acting for petroleum and petrochemical facility for supply of industrial gases in arbitration
Acting for cargo insurers in recovery claims against sea and air carriers for loss or damage to various cargoes, including container, project and bulk hard and soft commodities
Acting for state-owned shipbuilder caught in multi-jurisdictional battles between business partners brought through a common law multiple derivative action
Advising bank on causes of action in implied contract and economic torts against shipbuilders arising out of breach of financing agreement by borrowers
Advising specialist ship agents servicing naval vessels on the scope of sovereign immunity enjoyed by foreign military in Hong Kong
Reviewing sale and purchase/ offtake agreements for petroleum and petrochemical products
Advising on the impact of force majeure clause in charterparty following Ukraine-Russia war
