Juan J. Itriago joined Clyde & Co’s marine practice team in 2011, and he has since worked at the firm’s offices in Caracas and New York where he also acts as liaison for US and Latin American clients.
Juan's principal areas of practice are Maritime and Insurance and Reinsurance Law. He has advised and defended insurers, P&I Clubs, and owners with respect to marine related casualties, including damage or loss to vessels and/or cargo as well as governmental detention of vessels.
Juan graduated from Universidad Catolica Andrés Bello Law School in 2007. In 2012, he earned his specialization in International Trade, concentration in Maritime Law from Universidad Maritima del Caribe in Caracas, where he graduated first in the class. In 2011, Juan graduated from Tulane University Law School after pursuing a master’s in law (LL.M) in Admiralty and Maritime Law.
He is fluent in English and Spanish, and a certified legal interpreter by Venezuelan authorities.
