Karis is a Senior Associate in the Insurance, Finance and Professional Disputes team based in the Birmingham office. Karis is usually instructed by PI insurers to defend claims against a wide array of professionals, including: Accountants, Tax Advisers, Insolvency Practitioners, Auditors, Chartered Surveyors, Civil Engineers and Solicitors.
Karis also advises insurers on matters relating to policy coverage, particularly regarding late notification and non-disclosure. Karis also had experience pursuing recoveries for insurers and insureds, including obtaining injunctive relief.

Acting for a firm of Accountants for alleged negligent advice on the listing of a bond issue in a claim for damages in excess of $45million.
Defending a firm of Auditors against a claim of over £6million for allegedly overlooking unauthorised payments out of a company when conducting an audit.
Acting for insurers regarding mortgage mis-selling claims.
Advising a firm of Chartered Architects in respect of the preparation of allegedly inaccurate plans which was said to have caused a diminution in value of the claimant's property.
Investigating and advising insurers on policy coverage issues relating to late notification of a claim.
Representing a Tax Adviser in respect of alleged negligent advice regarding tax exemptions available on the disposal of company shareholdings.
Advising a Big Four Accountancy firm regarding a negligence claim arising from advice given relating to the tax treatment on disposal of shares in a company.
Acting for a Chartered Surveyor in respect of allegations regarding negligent design and contract administration of a building project valued at £500,000.
Representing a firm of Insolvency Practitioners regarding allegations that they mismanaged the Members Voluntary Liquidation of a company.
