Joshua Hopkins

Full Profile

Josh joined Clyde & Co in 2021 and is an Employment Associate in our London Office. 

He advises clients on contentious and non-contentious employment matters across a range of sectors. This includes litigation, investigations, settlements, DSARs, global projects, and general day-to-day HR issues. In terms of litigation, Josh has experience in both the employment tribunal and the civil courts. 

Josh is passionate about pro bono work and is the Pro Bono & Social Impact Champion for Clyde’s UK Employment, Pensions, and Immigration Team. He has assisted with several of Clyde’s pro bono projects including the Ukraine Response Project, the Unpaid Wages Clinic, and Pryde Beats Prejudice. He also has experience of assisting with climate and environmental issues having completed a secondment with the Chancery Lane Project. 

Josh is an active member of the firm’s internal LGBTQ+ network, Pryde & Co. He is also a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

• Defended international law firm against complex whistleblowing claim
• Defended international food manufacturer against race and disability discrimination claim
• Assisted global maritime insurance provider with obtaining complex Hong Kong and Chinese employment law advice in relation to potential job candidate
• Assisted with successful freezing injunction application as part of complex fraud litigation
• Assisted international law firm by project managing complex DSAR involving thousands of documents
• Named on the 2024 Pro Bono Recognition List of England and Wales
• Represented pro bono client in successful unlawful deductions from wages claim
• Advised Ukrainian refugees in Warsaw as part of Clyde & Co’s Ukraine Response Project
• Winner of Clyde & Co’s NQ Innovation Award 2023
