Janice Holmes

Janice Holmes advises insurance companies in analyzing coverage in a variety of lines, including commercial general liability, excess and umbrella liability, environmental clean-up, and professional liability policies, and also represents insurers in bad faith and coverage litigation. In addition, Janice has extensive experience in handling toxic and mass torts matters.

Janice has served as national coordinating counsel for a Fortune 100 company in managing cases involving alleged asbestos exposures in over thirty states. As coordinating counsel, Janice’s responsibilities included preparing corporate witnesses, developing training programs for local counsel, and working with local counsel to coordinate depositions and trial strategy.

• Successfully obtained summary judgment on behalf of an insurer in connection with a bad faith claim involving wrongful death claims arising out of work at a construction site.
• Successfully obtained summary judgment on behalf of an insurer in connection with a bad faith claim involving issues of covered damages in a construction defect claim.
• Successfully obtained summary judgment on behalf of an insurer in connection with a declaratory judgment involving the application of the assault and battery exclusion in a claim involving a shooting at a nightclub. 
• Successfully obtained summary judgment on behalf of an insurer in connection with declaratory judgment matter involving claims arising out of sexual molestation.
• Successfully obtained summary judgment on behalf of an insurer in connection with claims for bad faith, conversion, and defamation under a commercial auto liability policy.
• Successfully obtained summary judgment on behalf of an insurer in connection with UIM policy.
