In his practice focused on insurance coverage, Stephen provides insurers with advice on
a diverse range of policies, including commercial general liability, professional errors and omissions, property, directors’ and officers’ liability and cyber-risk policies.
With considerable experience representing large national and international insurers, Stephen defends a multitude of tort claims, including personal injury, conservation authority, occupiers’ liability, professional negligence, commercial building, condominium and construction claims. Called to the Bar in 2017, he has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Licence Appeal Tribunal and acted successfully in Small Claims Court trials and Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal hearings.
A University of Kansas graduate with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in journalism, Stephen earned his Juris Doctor from York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School. He joined Clyde & Co in 2023, after working at a full-service law firm in downtown Toronto in insurance coverage and litigation.
Outside of the office, Stephen is a sports enthusiast who enjoys golfing and regularly attending tennis and golf tournaments worldwide.
