Daniel Goddard

Daniel is a senior associate in Clyde & Co’s technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) practice in the Middle East. Dan joined the firm’s Dubai office in 2022 from a large UK based law firm.

He advises on a range of TMT matters and is called upon by clients to advise on the legal issues that arise from the use of innovative technology, including augmented reality and the sale of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Daniel also regularly advises on commercial instructions such as sponsorship agreements, logistic outsourcings and the procurement of goods and services.

Described as "balanced in approach, pragmatic and delivery focussed", Daniel has a developed understanding of the demands faced by in-house legal teams, having spent several months on secondment with telecoms, retail and manufacturing clients.

Experience

• Advising Bio Cell Tech FZCO (BCT) on its acquisition of Dante Labs Genomics FZE (now known as Lifespan Genomics Labs FZCO) (Dante Labs Genomics) from Dante Genomics, a leader in genomics and precision medicine.
• Advising noon on its AED 1.23 billion (USD 335.2 million) acquisition of Namshi from Emaar Malls.
• Acting as secondee legal counsel to a global clothing and accessories retailer.
• Advising a luxury cosmetics company on a range of projects, including the data protection considerations arising from the minting and subsequent sale of NFTs, the outsourcing of its e-commerce platform and the procurement of a in-store augmented reality experience.
• Advising a well-known vehicle manufacturer on the terms of its second-generation IT outsourcing agreement.
• Advising a UK supermarket on the terms of its logistics outsourcing agreement in respect of its national distribution centres.
• Advising an international beverage and brewing company on the terms of it sales/sponsorship agreements with several high-profile rugby and football teams.
• Advising a FTSE 250 company on the procurement of a business-critical risk management solution and e-signature platform.
