Bruce has been with the firm since qualifying as a solicitor.  He is an invaluable member of our casualty team.  A determined litigator, acting for both insurance and commercial clients, his court practice is one of the busiest in the firm.  In addition to his practice in general insurance work, he handles a broad range of regulatory matters, including Fatal Accident Inquiries and the defence of health and safety prosecutions.

Bruce is routinely instructed in large loss and complex injury cases, and also associated road traffic matters.  He regularly advises and represents major clients in the construction, engineering, oil & gas, retail and transport industries.

He has a keen interest in topical matters relating to both regulatory work and personal injury.  He presents regularly within the firm and also to a variety of insurers, insureds and other interested parties.  He co-ordinated the response of the firm to the proposed Damages Claims (EU Directive on Health & Safety at Work) (Scotland) Bill. Bruce has served as the Chair of FOIL Scotland, sits on the Scottish Risk & Regulatory Committee, and is one of knowledge partners for casualty work in the firm, with oversight of the Professional Support lawyers.
