Anna advises major trading houses, carriers and insurers on various aspects of international trade, commercial disputes and cargo claims. 

Anna was based in the Middle East for 9 years specialising in advisory and dispute resolution matters in the trade, maritime and offshore energy sectors.  Now based in the UK, she handles a wide range of matters arising under charterparties, contracts of carriage and trading contracts. Anna’s practice encompasses issues relating to various commodities including oil, gas, petrochemicals, hard and soft commodities and other cargoes. 

She also advises on sanctions and compliance issues in shipping and trade.

Anna regularly represents clients before English courts and before a range of arbitral bodies including the London Maritime Arbitrators Association, the London Court of International Arbitration, Dubai International Arbitration Centre, DIFC-LCIA Arbitration Centre, Abu Dhabi Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Centre and ad hoc arbitrations in London and in Dubai. 

Anna is fluent in Russian.

• Representing a major commodity trader in a successful claim arising from a sale and purchase contract before the English courts 
• Advising trading clients on force majeure, delays and demurrage claims under shipping and trading contracts arising from the Covid-19 pandemic 
• Advising cargo interests in a matter involving an explosion on a chemical tanker
• Assisting a major trading client in securing a recovery following successful judgment in the English courts
• Representing a UAE-based insurer in a dispute with a local assured and London reinsurers before the English High Court relating to hail damage to over 6,000 new vehicles carried by sea 
• Acting for UAE-based insurers in a dispute before the English High Court arising from piracy attack, seizure and subsequent sinking of a vessel
• Acting for Russian P&I insurers of a vessel involved in an incident of containers lost overboard in Jebel Ali port 
• Advising trading houses on the terms of contracts of affreightment, standard sale terms, pricing and insurance clauses and demurrage claims
• Handling a claim relating to jurisdiction issues in the Courts of the Dubai International Financial Centre 
• Assisting in representing a major Russian shipping company in a fraud case before English courts
