Walid is an associate in the corporate group at Barakat, Maher & Partners in association with Clyde & Co and is based in the Cairo office. He advises local and international clients on initial public offerings (IPOs), bonds, sukuk issuances, securitisations, capital increases, mergers and acquisitions, demergers, restructurings, regulatory aspects and registration of investment funds, and other corporate, capital markets and commercial transactions.
Walid has worked with clients operating in the aviation, FinTech, healthcare, hospitality, insurance, real estate, and retail and consumer sectors.
Walid is a member of the Egyptian Bar Association. He graduated with a Master of Laws degree (LLM) in Public Law from Cairo University in 2018, and a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from Sharjah University in 2014.
Walid is fluent in Arabic, English, and French.

Advising Arabia Investments Holding, a company listed on the Egyptian Exchange, on the 98 per cent sale of Arabian International Contracting through a Debt-to-Equity Swap.
Advising Capital for Securitization and Bedaya Mortgage Finance Co. (Bedaya) on the EGP 843 million securitization issuance for Bedaya, the first tranche of what is expected to be a total of a four-tranche programme with a value of EGP 3 billion.
Advising Gig-Egypt on the transaction to acquire 100 per cent of AIG Egypt through a mandatory tender offer.
Advising GlaxoSmithKline Services Unlimited (GSK Group) on the demerger of its consumer healthcare business to form global consumer healthcare company, Haleon Group at a value of GBP 55 million (approximately USD 63.8 million).
