Nathalie oversees both the cyber insurance coverage and incident response teams at Clyde & Co’s Montreal office. She assists insurers and insureds in evaluating data breaches, privacy issues and cyber claims in a variety of sectors, from issues in relation to notification to customers, restoration of data and quantification of loss. Nathalie works with an established network of experts globally who can assist when required.
Nathalie has provided legal counsel to a variety of actors in the insurance industry for more than 20 years. She combines pragmatism with her in-depth knowledge of all facets of the industry, from insurance coverage to product distribution and regulatory compliance. She understands her clients' operations and helps them bring their business projects to fruition.
She also counsels clients on insurance policies and assists with product development, distribution issues, and has undertaken large-scale product line reviews for insurers. She has been advising domestic and foreign insurers at the forefront of developing cyber policies for the Canadian and Quebec markets. She advises insurers and other actors in the insurance sector on federal and provincial licensing, compliance matters and works collaboratively with regulators to ensure her client’s meet their objectives.
Also, Nathalie's experience includes advice to professional firms on mandatory insurance requirements, insurance, and risk transfer arrangements, as well as the drafting of Master Service Agreements with their large institutional or corporate clients.
Fluent in both English and French, Nathalie is a frequent speaker on insurance, cyber risks and data privacy. She also taught insurance law at the Law Faculty of McGill University.
