Her practice includes road traffic accident, employers' liability and public liability claims with a value ranging from GBP 100,000 to GBP 6 million. She has been involved in high value European claims advising in relation to indemnity limits on foreign policies of insurance, jurisdiction and applicable law. She has recently been involved in a case giving rise to a claim for near record damages for a German insurer. Kate is also at present part of the team advising on a claim pleaded at over GBP 25 million which involved a Polish national injured in a road traffic accident in Jersey. This claim has involved advising on a myriad of complex financial evidence relating to the difficulties faced by insurers in light of Wells -v- Wells, alternative investment structures and the impact of Polish wage inflation on the discount rate.
