John acts in commercial disputes in the High Court in London and in international arbitration, specialising in energy, renewables and offshore construction. Called to the Bar in 2011, John takes a pragmatic and commercial approach to contentious matters while also advising on the negotiation and drafting of contracts.
Experience
- Acting in ICC, UNCITRAL, LCIA, and LMAA arbitration proceedings involving offshore vessels and platforms
- Advice on agreements for the design, fabrication, construction, transportation and installation of offshore wind turbines and related infrastructure
- Acting in proceedings in the Commercial Court in London concerning Joint Operating Agreements, Farm-out Agreements, Transportation and Processing Agreements, and Decommissioning Security Agreements
- Acting in disputes concerning Standby Letters of Credit and Performance Securities
- Advice on liability and indemnity regimes in offshore construction
- Acting in disputes arising from transfers of offshore interests through asset or share purchases
