Michael Conrad

Full Profile

Michael’s practice encompasses a wide range of sectors, from construction and engineering, energy, oil & gas and mining to infrastructure and consumer products and includes French and international clients. He has extensive experience of commercial contracts and agreements and has advised on and/or negotiated purchase, supply, licensing, R&D agreements as well as NDAs and confidentiality agreements.

His expertise also leads him to work on disputes arising from major accidents and catastrophic losses, as well as commercial and criminal litigation. 

Michael has significant experience assisting his clients in complex disputes before state courts and in arbitration proceedings (ICC, LCIA, QICCA, LMAA). 

Michael was admitted to the Paris Bar in 2008. 

He is fluent in French and English.

• Advising a US company on the negotiation of various purchase agreements with French suppliers.
• Advising a European industrial conglomerate on the negotiation of a manufacturing and sales contract.
• Advising a manufacturer of drug delivery systems in the negotiation of a development agreement with a pharmaceutical.
• Advising a major contractor on the review and amendment of a multitude of subcontracts in relation to a construction project.
• Advising a French manufacturer of consumer goods in the negotiation of a supply agreement with a UK retailer.
• Advising a West African country in the renegotiation of various mining agreements.
• Advising a European State on various regulatory and contractual aspects of the implementation of cooperation treaty with another European State.
• Advising an Asian construction group on the termination of its agreement with an Italian supplier.
• Assisting a construction group in a dispute following the destruction of several submarine cables.
• Assisting a metal producer following the partial destruction by fire of its industrial facility.
• Assisting an oil company following the destruction of its facility in West Africa, which included several casualties.
