Abigail has experience advising on contentious and non-contentious matters, including day-to-day employee relations matters (sickness absence, performance and disciplinary issues), restructuring projects (employee transfers, removal of roles and corporate support work), investigations and disputes (contentious senior exits, whistleblowing, employee claims and discrimination allegations). 

In addition, she has particular interest in advising clients on the overlap between employment and privacy laws, the project management of multi-jurisdictional projects and investigations. 

Abigail is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales. Abigail graduated from Nottingham Law School with a Master of Law in 2016 and a Master of Law in Legal Practice in 2017. 

Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Abigail worked at a large international law firm in the UK.

Experience

Prior to joining Clyde & Co:

  • Advising on and successfully defending a European healthcare company against allegations of sexual harassment and discrimination. 
  • Advising a university in the UK on a complex whistleblowing investigation. 
  • Advising a high-profile individual on the employment law requirements in the jurisdiction, as well as drafting highly confidential employment documents.
  • Advising on the global transformation project of a global engineering consultancy company including conducting training for HR employees, providing a document suite and managing case-by-case negotiations. 
  • Advising US based technology start-ups on their entry into the UK employment market. 
  • Advising national and international companies on the cross over between employment and privacy legislation including employee monitoring, multi-jurisdictional projects and employee privacy policies. 
  • Successfully defending a multi-national technology company against claims of discrimination in the UK Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeals Tribunal.
