Ruth is a solicitor with extensive experience in employment law. She manages the professional support function of the Employment, Pensions and Immigration team where she is responsible for keeping the team’s knowledge and skills up to date.
Ruth writes client alerts and legal articles for external publication and is a contributor to a number of legal text books. She organises and prepares training seminars for clients and manages the team’s internal training programme. Ruth delivers training both internally to team members and at client seminars. She is responsible for managing the team's template documentation and knowhow base so they can provide the best possible service to clients. An important aspect of her current role is to consider the impact of changes to employment law. A part of this process is to organise think-tank sessions on new developments in employment law and draft client alerts and associated template documents.
As a fee earner, Ruth was a senior associate at another City firm where she handled a full case load of both contentious and non-contentious employment cases. Her experience ranges from reviewing and drafting staff handbooks and contracts of employment to conducting employment tribunal claims and High Court litigation. She has advised on many large scale redundancy exercises, tricky dismissals involving discrimination issues and on the employment aspects of sales and purchases.
Ruth is member of the Employment Lawyers Association and PEN, the network of professional support lawyers.
