Robin joined Clyde & Co in 2019 and is an associate specialising in international dispute resolution.
With particular experience in international commercial arbitration under a wide range of institutional rules, including ICC, LCIA, DIAC, and others, Robin has advised clients in a number of high-value disputes spanning the energy, healthcare, technology, and pharmaceuticals sectors. In addition to acting as counsel, Robin has experience with appointments as tribunal secretary in various matters, assisting arbitrators on a range of highly complex disputes.
Robin has regularly acted for European and Middle Eastern governments, in addition to state entities, and
well-known companies from the inception of their claims, or defence, up to and including enforcement. Robin regularly advises in coordination with Clyde & Co’s global network of offices on disputes that stretch across multiple jurisdictions.
Robin also edits the Clyde & Co Young Arbitration Group annual publication on multi-jurisdictional disputes and has had his articles featured in Mealey’s International Arbitration Report.
Experience
- Acting in a circa EUR 500 million ICC arbitration on behalf of an EU state, including within Emergency Arbitration proceedings, in a matter concerning a concession dispute related to various hospitals
- Acting for a Middle Eastern state in a bifurcated ICC arbitration worth in excess of USD 300 million concerning various disputes arising from a production sharing agreement
- Acting for a major US energy company in an ICC arbitration concerning a software licencing dispute valued at USD 30 million
- Acting for a European national oil company in a EUR 10 million LCIA arbitration concerning unpaid sums for specialist fuel oils
- Acting for a Middle East-based distributor in a USD 70 million LCIA arbitration against a major international pharmaceutical company
