Melanie has been with Clyde & Co since 2008. As a Senior Associate in the Real Estate team, Melanie has extensive and diverse experience within the world of commercial property, covering development site assembly, drafting and negotiating overage agreements, dealing with acquisitions, disposals and management of investment property portfolios and a full spectrum of landlord and tenant matters.

Experience

• Acting for a developer in relation to site acquisition, funding, structuring and occupier agreements for lease in respect of a multi-faceted regeneration project in Sittingbourne.
• Acting for and advising a Hong Kong investor in their site assembly, financing, vacant possession strategy and rights of light considerations ahead of redevelopment to build a new skyscraper in the City.
• Advising in complex lease structuring, including dealing with issues arising from the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987 and closely working with our residential plot sales team for onward sales.
• Acting for a local authority in relation to call options and overage agreements in the course of site assembly for a large residential development in the midlands.
• Negotiating leases and agreements for lease (including pre-lets) for a range of clients across a variety of real estate sectors including office, and mixed-use schemes.
