Deborah is a Legal Director (dual qualified in England & Wales and Northern Ireland) based in Clyde & Co’s Manchester Office. Deborah has extensive experience in defending medical professionals and NHS Trusts in relation to clinical negligence claims of mixed, but primarily high, value.
Deborah trained at a leading Manchester firm where she acted on behalf of Claimants in clinical negligence claims. Thereafter Deborah spent 10 years with a highly regarded firm in Belfast where she acted on behalf of Medical Defence Organisations and Insurers, including Medical Protection Society, the Medical and Dental Defence Union of Scotland and the Association of Optometrists in defence of claims against medical practitioners in Northern Ireland.
Since joining Clyde & Co in October 2021, Deborah has acted on behalf of NHS Resolution and Medical Defence Organisations in the defence of claims against NHS Trusts, General Practitioners and other allied health professionals.
Deborah has significant experience of dealing with a wide range of cases across a variety of medical specialities including neurology, obstetrics and gynaecology, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, cardiology, psychiatry, general surgery and general practice. Deborah’s practice primarily involves high value and complex cases. She regularly represents her clients at Court hearings, mediations, conferences and settlement meetings.
