Talal is a Saudi and common law qualified lawyer and brings more than 15 years of experience working in executive in-house roles within major projects in Saudi Arabia and in private practice. With a transactional and disputes background, Talal assists clients in resolving complex disputes through direct negotiations, ADR, and court litigation.
Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Talal acted as counsel for the Public Investment Fund, Saudi Aramco, Saudi Electricity Company and the Ministry of Energy, where he advised on a variety of matters including commercial contracts, construction, professional services, procurements, JV agreements, compliance, and governance. Whilst working in-house he led team’s advising on major government and government owned projects. Talal’s experience also extends to representing international contractors, multinational conglomerates, defence contractors, and engineering firms.
Talal sits as a neutral in arbitrations and mediations. He is an accredited arbitrator and mediator with the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA) and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Islamic Law and a Juris Doctorate and is licensed to practice in Saudi Arabia and the state of Minnesota in the US.

Prior to joining Clyde & Co:
- Representing a foreign owned engineering firm in proceedings before a Saudi regulator in connection with a major infrastructure project.
- Representing an F&B multinational in a dispute with its Saudi JV partner.
- Representing an international corporation in a dispute against a Saudi authority concerning a port concession agreement.
- Advising a US non-profit classification entity on an arbitration action.
- Representing the Ministry of Energy & Saudi Aramco in a variety of litigation cases.
- Advising a Saudi utility provider on corporate governance and compliance matters.
