Jade Amer

Jade is an Associate in the Birmingham office.  She joined BLM in January 2022 and later Clyde & Co in July 2022 as part of the merger.  

Jade acts for insurers and a range of professionals, primarily defending breach of contract and professional negligence claims against accountants, tax advisers, insolvency practitioners, brokers and search providers.

As well as defending claims, Jade has experience on the claimant side.  Jade has successfully pursued a range of defendants, in breach of contract, negligence, product liability and construction claims. Jade has also acted on a number of contentious property matters, and is currently involved in a case where enforcement action is being taken against leaseholders for breach of restrictive covenants.  Because of her rounded experience, Jade is able to think about cases pragmatically and commercially.

Two of Jade’s current cases involve defending an insurance broker in a complex loss of chance claim valued at £4million and defending a search provider in a group action involving over one-hundred claimants.

Experience

• Defending professional negligence claims issued against accountants, tax advisers, insurance brokers and search providers
• Acting for insurers in claims pursued via the Third Parties (Rights Against Insurers) Act 2010, following liquidation of policyholders
• Pursuing contribution claims against third parties, under the Civil Liability (Contribution) Act 1978 to recover sums paid out by clients
