Gabriel is a seasoned partner with a practice focused on insurance coverage disputes, civil and professional liability, as well as on class actions. He has substantive trial experience defending insurers and regularly works with his clients to resolve disputes in complex contentious matters within various legal sectors.
Gabriel Archambault has worked as a litigator his entire career and has successfully pleaded a multitude of motions and trials before the Court of Quebec, the Quebec Superior Court and the Quebec Court of Appeal. Moreover, he has represented clients in mediations and arbitrations in other Canadian jurisdictions.
He regularly assists and defends corporate and insurance-industry clients involved in complex commercial disputes, civil and professional liability litigation, and class actions. His practice is focused on insurance, and he has gained experience in a wide range of cases related to product liability, construction litigation, coverage litigation and class actions against insurers. These class actions feature several fundamental insurance-coverage issues in the context of abuse and indigenous school claims. Gabriel frequently advises insurers and corporate clients on numerous first-party claims, providing them with coverage opinions and his considerable expertise in subrogation.
He has worked with domestic and American insurers, as well as with Lloyd’s, in a wide variety of cases and continues to do so on a daily basis. Known and respected by his clients for being effective, creative and passionate in finding tailor-made solutions and strategies curated to each and every case, Gabriel has published several articles over the years on construction law, insurance coverage and class actions. In addition, he was a speaker at the annual conference on recent developments in insurance law and professional liability in 2023 and was recognized for his work in class action cases.
Fluent in both French and English, Gabriel holds an Honours Degree in International Development and Globalization from the University of Ottawa (2011).
