Ahmed is a partner in Clyde & Co’s dispute resolution group and is based in the Riyadh office. He advises clients in relation to dispute advisory work and represents international and local businesses on litigation matters.

Ahmed is a bi-lingual disputes lawyer with over 10 years of experience advising local and international companies operating in Riyadh. He has advised clients on transportation, marine and international trade matters.

Prior to re-joining Clyde & Co, Ahmed acted as in-house counsel for Saudi Company for Artificial Intelligence, a Public Investment Fund company, and Middle East Cloud and Digital Transformation Company Limited (CNTXT), an Aramco joint venture. 

Ahmed holds a law degree from King Saud University, a Masters in Comparative and International Law and a Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University, US. He is also the Chairman of the Appeal Committee at the Saudi Badminton Federation.

  • Acting on a high-profile dispute representing a luxury car manufacturer before the Saudi Arabia courts in a €250 million claim brought by a local distributor against the parent company.
  • Representing one of the world’s largest shipping companies before the Saudi courts in a recovery action for damage to goods while under the defendant’s custody during land transportation in Saudi Arabia.
  • Representing a client before the Saudi courts in proceedings concerning jurisdictional issues and liability for allegedly missing goods in a sealed container packed by the shipper.
  • Representing a local ship agent before the Saudi courts in a dispute involving issues of set-off, privity of contract, foreign law, and jurisdiction clauses, including the impact of legal changes in Saudi Arabia concerning shipping agency services.
  • Advising a major shipping company on compliance with Saudi maritime shipping agent regulations.
  • Representing a client before the Saudi courts in a dispute concerning an indemnity claim against a road haulier in relation to the constructive total loss of a high-end and specialist electrical transformer damaged during land transportation for use in a specialist ECP project in Saudi Arabia.
  • Representing clients in labour disputes before the Saudi Arabia courts.
  • Advising on corporate governance matters and assisting board members in all board-related issues in the capacity of board secretary.
