We are excited to announce our new Cyber Risk podcast series. This series of short podcasts will highlight cyber hot topics together with our analysis, tips and predictions – designed to fit into your day.

In our first episode of the series, we start 2025 with a roundup of the key legal developments from a cyber perspective throughout 2024 and what to expect in 2025. Partner and Head of the Cyber UK team, Helen Bourne and Legal Director, Shanaka Wijetunge take a look at the key legislative developments, litigation updates and regulator activity.

Helen and Shanaka share the impact of key pieces of legislative reform we have seen throughout 2024, such as DORA, NIS2 and the Cyber Resilience Act, which will continue to be on the agenda in 2025. They also discuss the introduction of new parliamentary bills surrounding data protection, the interesting year we have seen for cyber litigation in the UK courts, and the impact of global regulator and law enforcement agencies working together to disrupt the impact of ransomware groups.

Turning their attention to 2025, Helen and Shanaka consider what we can expect to see in the cyber risk arena over the coming year and offer their key takeaways to help you navigate the ever-evolving world of cyber risk together with tips on how to continue to improve cyber resilience.
