This update forms part of the Year in Review 2020 series. Businesses across the construction sector are seeing an increase in the use of artificial intelligence on projects.

In recent years we have seen robots used to monitor site progress and to complete tasks that previously could only be completed by humans.  The increasing use of this type of technology is likely to affect how some typical site activities are undertaken, and ultimately lead to an increase in productivity whilst also a possible reduction in some costs.

In this podcast, Charlotte French and Esta Greensmith discuss recent examples of the ways artificial intelligence has been used on construction projects, highlighting the positives of using it and the options which may be available to contractors in future projects.
