Our experienced and well-known healthcare regulatory and professional discipline team represents healthcare practitioners facing all forms of investigations. We advise practitioners in respect of both clinical and conduct issues under investigation by their regulator, disciplinary investigations and other investigations including invited reviews. We act for doctors, dentists, optical professionals, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, chiropractors and paramedics, among others.
We advise, support and represent healthcare practitioners at all stages of fitness to practise investigations from formulating an initial response to representing a practitioner before the panels of the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service, General Dental Council, General Optical Council, General Chiropractic Council, Nursing & Midwifery Council and Health & Care Professions Council. We have significant experience in representing doctors in NHS Trust disciplinary investigations (MHPS) including those which progress to conduct/capability hearings. We also represent doctors and other professionals in criminal investigations from police station interview to Crown Court trial.
Our lawyers are instructed in a broad range of complex and high profile investigations involving healthcare providers and organisations including NHS Trusts, care homes, specialist mental health units and private healthcare providers. We are experienced in advising organisations facing CQC enforcement action as well as representing registered providers and registered managers who are the subject of prosecution by the CQC.
