In this session, Legal Directors Gemma Parker and Pamela-Jane Riley delve into the elements of strict liability under Section 2 of the Animals Act 1971, as well as the statutory defenses outlined in Section 5.
Particular focus is given to interpreting the defense under Section 5 (2), supported by relevant case law, as well as the role of expert evidence in strengthening arguments for both Section 2 and Section 5 claims.
