Aviation LGBTQ+ History Month Event
Overview
Join us at Clyde & Co in celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month, to connect with industry professionals, celebrate diversity, and gain valuable insights from the impactful experiences of the LGBTQ+ community in the aviation sector.
This event will feature a keynote speech and panel discussion, where you will hear from a former Senior Long-Haul Pilot who transitioned in the workplace, Clyde & Co’s Aviation Associates, and a former Cabin Crew Manager who is now a Trainee Solicitor at our firm.

Keynote Speech from Cat Burton – Trailblazing British Airways Pilot and LGBTQIA+ Advocate Cat Burton, a former British Airways Senior Long-Haul Pilot, began her flying career in 1971 and was the first line copilot to fly the 747-400 for British Airways. In 2014, aged 62, Cat came out as trans in the workplace and flew as British Airways’ most senior female pilot until her retirement in 2017. Cat is now a senior flight instructor and charity chair. In her keynote speech, Cat will reflect on her flying career, transition and how diversity and the LGBTQIA+ community helped her fly as her authentic self. |

Pride in Aviation - Panel Discussion Join us for an insightful discussion on being proud to be LGBTQIA+ in Aviation. The panel will be hosted by Clyde & Co’s Charlotte Louise Menefy and panellists will include fellow colleagues Sophia Hitchcock, George Grammer-Taylor, and keynote speaker Cat Burton. |
