Clyde & Co US trial team secures a complete defense verdict in a $30 million Washington jury trial

This matter stemmed from an admitted liability T-bone motor vehicle accident that occurred in August 2019. As a result of the accident, the Plaintiff alleged a traumatic brain injury, post concussive syndrome, PTSD, anxiety, depression, neck and back injuries (including thoracic outlet syndrome), semicircular canal dehiscence requiring a future surgery, injury to his pituitary gland causing human growth hormone deficiencies, low testosterone, and erectile dysfunction. The Plaintiff also claimed that because of the accident, he had ongoing pain and suffering, loss of normal life, and was permanently disabled. He submitted a lifecare plan of approximately $6.7 million, and at the conclusion of trial, the Plaintiff asked the jury to award him $30 million. The jury deliberated for approximately six hours before reaching a complete defense verdict.

Clyde & Co parachuted into the trial right before Christmas, a little over a month before the trial was set to commence. This win was truly a multi-state trial and defense team effort with Partner Dan Worker, Senior Counsel Rachel Werner, Associate Steven Crocchi, Associate Brent Dugwyler, and Paralegal Holly Hommel all working to assist the trial team with new motions in limine, defending pending motions to bar our experts, updating expert opinions based on newly disclosed evidence, and prepare for trial.
