Sunita is a consultant based in the Dubai office of Clyde & Co specialising in Maritime Law and Arbitration. Sunita has been based in the Middle East region for the last 13 years and is a qualified solicitor admitted to the Rolls of the Law Society of England and Wales. She is also a barrister from the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.
Her clients include the Government of India, foreign and local shipping companies in India and a host of companies in the GCC. She has also practised as a lawyer in England, South Africa, New Delhi and the GCC.
Sunita is the wife of former Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia in 2000 and 2010, to UAE in 2007 and to Oman in 2003. During these times, Sunita has interacted with members of the respective Royal families and the diplomatic community, organising events to promote India and facilitate business development between companies and individuals throughout the Gulf and India.
Sunita has been a regular speaker and organiser of industry seminars and workshops on Maritime law and Arbitration. She has also presented various papers on Arbitration law in India and the GCC.
Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Sunita worked as a consultant in Riyadh and New Delhi.
