Clyde & Co and Barlow Lyde & Gilbert merged on 1 November 2011. The merged firm is known as, and trades globally, as Clyde & Co.
Clyde & Co is an international law firm comprising Clyde & Co LLP and subsidiary undertakings. - The business carried on by Clyde & Co in the UK and its locally registered, and licenced branches in Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai, Nantes, Paris and Singapore is carried on through a limited liability partnership registered in England and Wales known as Clyde & Co LLP but which continues to practise under the name Clyde & Co.
- Certain work undertaken in Manchester and Oxford is carried out by Clyde & Co Claims LLP, a wholly owned subsidiary of Clyde & Co LLP.
- The Qatar Financial Centre Branch is licenced by the Qatar Financial Centre Authority.

Money laundering
In the UK and other jurisdictions in which we operate, we are required to identify clients for the purpose of anti-money laundering legislation. This means that when we first receive instructions from a client, we are required to identify both our client and (if applicable) the client’s beneficial owner(s) and to verify those identities. We may therefore ask you to provide us with appropriate evidence of identity or other information, which we will retain. If satisfactory evidence or information is not provided within a reasonable time of our request we may have to stop acting for you. In that event you will be charged for work done up to the time we stop acting.
Professional indemnity insurance
In the UK and other jurisdictions in which we operate, we are required to have in place professional indemnity insurance. The name of our professional indemnity insurer is available upon request.
Financial Services Authority
We are included on the register of professional firms maintained by the Financial Services Authority so that we can carry on certain regulated activities such as insurance mediation (which is broadly the advising on, selling and administration of insurance contracts) as an incidental part of our normal professional services. Fraudulent emails
We have been made aware that from time to time members of the public may be sent fraudulent emails, purporting to come from the firm. The emails contain a copy of the firm's logo and relay imaginative factual circumstances with a request for the recipient to contact the sender, providing personal or confidential information. Such emails are known to the Metropolitan Police and NCIS as "419 scams". Clyde & Co has no involvement with these emails. Members of the public who are in receipt of a 419 scam email should not to respond to it.
Governing Law and jurisdiction
These terms and conditions and your use of this site are governed by English law. Disputes arising out of these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Terms of business - Clyde & Co LLP
All rights and obligations, including any contractual obligations which the partnership Clyde & Co or any of its individual partners or staff had with a client prior to 1 May 2007, have been transferred to and assumed by Clyde & Co LLP. The terms of engagement under which Clyde & Co LLP provides services to a client are, apart from Clyde & Co LLP becoming the contracting party, those that have previously been supplied to clients. Revised terms of engagement reflecting the move to LLP status are applicable in respect of all new instructions to Clyde & Co LLP from 1 May 2007.
